The Morning Journey

• 04:00 – 04:30: We pick you up directly from your Cusco hotel for a bus transfer to Ollantaytambo station.
• 06:10 – 06:45: Board the train and enjoy the scenic ride to Aguas Calientes.
• 09:15 – 09:25: Arrival! Our staff will welcome you at the Aguas Calientes train station.
• 09:30 – 10:00: Take the shuttle bus up the winding road to the entrance of the citadel.

The Main Event: Machu Picchu

• 10:00 – 12:30: Guided Tour. Discover the secrets of the New 7th Wonder of the World. Your guide will take you through the most important temples, plazas, and viewpoints.

Afternoon: Free Time

• 13:00 – 18:00: After the tour, take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes. You have free time to enjoy a delicious lunch, shop for souvenirs, or relax in the local hot springs.

The Return

• 18:30 – 20:20: Board your return train to Ollantaytambo.

• 20:30 – 22:30: Our private bus will transfer you from the station back to your hotel in Cusco for a well-deserved rest.

Day 1: From Cusco to the Clouds – Your Machu Picchu Adventure

🌄 An Early Start for a Perfect Day Your adventure begins at 4:00 AM with a convenient pickup from your Cusco hotel or Airbnb. Our driver will warmly welcome you for a relaxing 1 hour and 45-minute drive through the Sacred Valley to the Ollantaytambo station.

🚂 The Scenic Train Ride Board your train (departing approx. 6:10 AM or 6:40 AM) and settle in for a visual delight. For the next 1.5 hours, you will wind through the Andes, watching the landscape shift from high mountains to the lush cloud forest as you approach Aguas Calientes.

🤝 Arrival & Ascent Upon arrival, your personal guide will be waiting at the station to greet you. After a quick briefing and some free time (20–40 minutes) to grab a coffee or snack, we will take the 30-minute shuttle bus ride up to the main gate.

✨ The Main Event: Guided Tour of Machu Picchu Between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM, you will enter the Citadel.

• The Experience: For 2.5 hours, your expert guide will lead you through temples, terraces, and plazas, sharing the fascinating history of the Incas.

• The Circuits: We prioritize Circuit 1 or 2 (the classic panoramic routes). If these are sold out, we will secure Circuit 3 or 4. (We recommend booking early to secure the best spots!)

🏡 The Return After the tour, we take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes. Enjoy some free time for lunch before your train departs (approx. 2:30 PM or 2:55 PM). Our transfer service will meet you in Ollantaytambo to drive you back to Cusco, dropping you off at your hotel around 6:30 PM, just in time for a well-deserved dinner.

Know Before You Go: The 1-Day Train Tour Experience

Visiting Machu Picchu in a single day is an exhilarating experience, but it is also a long one! Here is the essential info to help you prepare for this whirlwind adventure.

1. It’s a Full Day Adventure To make the magic happen, we start early. Expect a 4:00 AM pickup and a return to Cusco around 8:30 PM. It is a tiring day, but seeing the sunrise over the Sacred Valley and the Citadel in the afternoon makes every minute worth it.

• Pro Tip: Get a good night’s sleep before your tour!

2. Physical Activity Level While this isn’t a trek, it is not entirely sedentary.

• The Train: Relaxing and comfortable.

• The Ruins: Machu Picchu is built on a mountain. Expect to walk on uneven stone steps and steep paths for about 2 to 2.5 hours. Wear comfortable sneakers or hiking boots!

3. Passports are Non-Negotiable You cannot board the train or enter the park without your original passport. Photos or copies are often rejected. Please double-check you have it before leaving your hotel.

4. No Bathrooms Inside There are no toilets inside the citadel. You must use the restroom at the main entrance gate (cost: 2 Soles) before your guided tour begins. Once you enter, you cannot leave and re-enter.
