The Cathedral: Located in the vibrant Plaza de Armas, this colonial masterpiece is a treasure trove of art, history, and deep religious significance.

Morning: Into the Valley
Your adventure deepens today! We will pick you up from your hotel at 8:00 AM to leave the city behind and descend into the Sacred Valley of the Incas. As we drive through landscapes that inspire awe, you will understand why the Incas held this fertile river valley in such high respect.
Pisac: Terraces & Traditions
Our first stop is the stunning archaeological site of Pisac. Here, you will witness the Incas’ incredible engineering prowess firsthand as you gaze up at the vast andenería (agricultural terraces) carved into the mountainside—a monumental tribute to Pachamama (Mother Earth).
Must-Do: After the ruins, we visit the colorful Pisac Market. It’s the perfect place to hunt for unique artisan keepsakes and try a fresh, oven-baked empanada!
Urubamba: A Taste of the Andes
We continue along the Urubamba River to the town of Urubamba. Here, we will pause for a delicious buffet lunch featuring local cuisine.
Foodie Tip: Be sure to try the giant white corn (Choclo), renowned as the best in the world, which is grown right here in the valley.
Ollantaytambo: The Living Inca City
Our exploration of the valley concludes in Ollantaytambo, one of the few places where people still live in original Inca buildings. You will explore the massive fortress that guards the town, marveling at the sheer size of the stones and the ingenuity required to place them there.
All Aboard to Aguas Calientes
As the afternoon winds down, the excitement builds. We will board the train for a scenic two-hour ride through the changing vegetation of the canyon, arriving in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Town). You will check into your hotel here, resting up right at the doorstep of the World Wonder.
Essential Tips for Day 2
To make the most of this full day of exploration, here are our top recommendations:
Footwear: We will be walking on uneven stone steps in Pisac and Ollantaytambo, so comfortable walking shoes or sneakers with good grip are a must.
Day Pack Essentials: Bring a small backpack with your camera, sun hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a bottle of water.
Overnight Bag: Remember, you will be staying in Aguas Calientes tonight! Pack a small overnight bag with what you need for the hotel and tomorrow’s visit to Machu Picchu (leave heavy luggage in Cusco).
Day 3: The Crown Jewel – Machu Picchu (Circuit 2 Included)
Rise and shine! Today is the day you experience the «Classic View» of the Inca Empire.
🌄 The Ascent to the Citadel
After an early breakfast at your hotel in Aguas Calientes, we board the bus for a scenic 30-minute ride up the zigzagging Hiram Bingham Highway. As the mist clears, you will arrive at the entrance of the Inca Citadel, ready for the highlight of your trip.
🎫 The Best Route: Circuit 2 Included
Not all tickets are created equal! We prioritize your experience by including tickets for Circuit 2 (The Classic Circuit). Why does this matter? Circuit 2 is the most comprehensive route, offering:
The «Postcard» Photo: Access to the high platforms near the Guardian’s House for that iconic shot of the ruins with Huayna Picchu in the background.
Complete Exploration: A thorough walk through the urban and religious sectors, ensuring you don’t miss the major temples.
🏛️ Your Guided Journey
For the next two hours, your expert guide will lead you through the history and mystery of this sacred site. On Circuit 2, you will explore:
The Main Plaza: The grassy heart of the city’s social life.
The Sacred Plaza: Home to the Temple of the Three Windows.
The Solar Observatory: Learn about the Incas’ fascination with the stars.
The Royal Quarters: Walk through the spaces where the Inca Emperor likely stayed.
🚞 The Journey Back to Cusco
After soaking in the views and filling your camera roll, we take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes. You will have free time to enjoy lunch (not included) at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we board the train for a relaxing ride back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy station. Our private transport will be waiting to drive you comfortably back to your hotel in Cusco.
💡 Important Rules for Circuit 2
To preserve the site, specific regulations apply:
Strict One-Way Path: Circuit 2 follows a specific one-way path. We cannot turn back, so make sure to take your photos as we go!
No Re-entry: Once we exit the circuit, we cannot re-enter, so please use the restrooms (located outside the main gate) before we start the tour.
Passport: You must present your original physical passport to enter.
Day 4: The Mystery of Moray & The Salt Mines of Maras
Get your camera ready for the most photogenic landscapes in the Andes. Today, we explore the science and the salt of the Inca Empire.
⭕ Moray: The Inca Greenhouse
After breakfast, we head out to the archaeological site of Moray, a place that looks like a giant amphitheater carved into the earth. These aren’t just pretty shapes—they are an ancient agricultural laboratory!
The Science: You will marvel at three massive circular terraces. The Incas used these depressions to create different microclimates (the temperature difference between the top and bottom circles can be up to 15°C / 27°F!), allowing them to experiment with crops from the jungle and the mountains in one place.
🧂 Maras: The Salt Mines (Salineras)
Next, we visit the breathtaking Salineras de Maras. Imagine thousands of small, white pools cascading down the side of a canyon—it is a sight unlike anything else in Peru.
A Living Tradition: This isn’t just a museum; it’s an active mine! Local families have been harvesting salt here since before the time of the Incas. A salty subterranean stream fills the pools, the sun evaporates the water, and the famous «Maras Pink Salt» remains.
Shopping Tip: This is the perfect place to buy a bag of gourmet pink salt or salted chocolates as a gift for friends back home.
Afternoon: We return to Cusco, leaving you with a free evening to enjoy the city’s nightlife or a final farewell dinner.
Day 5: Farewell to the Imperial City
All good things must come to an end, but the memories will last forever.
✈️ Smooth Departure
Enjoy a final relaxing breakfast at your hotel. Depending on your flight schedule, our team will pick you up and transfer you to Cusco Airport (Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport).
We will ensure you arrive with plenty of time for your check-in, making your departure as stress-free as your arrival.
👋 Until Next Time!
As you fly over the Andes, we hope you look down with a smile, remembering the mist of Machu Picchu, the taste of Peruvian corn, and the warmth of the local culture. Thank you for choosing us to guide you through the Land of the Incas. Buen viaje!

🧳 Pack Like a Pro: What to Bring for Your Cusco Adventure
Get ready for the trip of a lifetime! Here is everything you need to pack for a comfortable, stress-free 5-day journey.
1. The «Two-Bag» Strategy
To keep your travels smooth and your back happy, we recommend a simple two-bag system:
Main Luggage (Wheeled Suitcase): A small-to-medium wheeled suitcase is your best friend. It fits perfectly in our private transport and is easy for you to maneuver through airports and hotel lobbies.
Pro Tip: Most local airlines cap checked baggage at 20kg (44 lbs). Packing light helps you glide through your travels!
Day Backpack: This is your trusty companion. You will carry this daily for water, cameras, and layers while your main suitcase stays safely at the hotel or in our transport.
🚨 The «Don’t Leave Home Without It» List (Essentials)
These items are non-negotiable for a safe and successful trip.
🛂 Original Passport: You cannot enter Machu Picchu or board the train without it! Keep it dry, safe, and on your person during tours.
👟 Sturdy Closed Shoes: Protect your feet from cobblestones, uneven trails, and insects. Comfortable walking shoes or sneakers with good grip are vital.
☀️ Sun Protection Kit: The high-altitude sun is strong. Bring a wide-brimmed hat, quality sunglasses, and high-SPF sunscreen.
🦟 Insect Repellent: Essential for the lower altitude areas like Machu Picchu to ensure an itch-free experience.
📸 Camera: You will be seeing some of the world’s most beautiful landscapes—make sure you have plenty of memory space to immortalize the moment!
💵 Cash in Soles: While cards work in many places, small denominations of Peruvian Soles are handy for buying water, souvenirs, and tipping.
👍 Highly Recommended for Comfort
A few smart additions to make your trip smoother.
Reusable Water Bottle: Stay hydrated and help us keep Peru clean by reducing plastic waste. A 1.5-liter bottle is the perfect size.
Personal Med Kit: Your guide carries a full first-aid kit, but we recommend bringing your own small supply of painkillers (for headaches), electrolytes, band-aids/blister pads, and any personal medication.
Document Backup: Keep digital and physical copies of your passport, flight tickets, and insurance in a separate bag, just in case.
Electrical Adapter: Peru uses Type A and C plugs. Bring a universal adapter to keep your phone and camera charged.
Phone Alarm: You don’t want to oversleep on Machu Picchu day!
🛌 Optional & Miscellaneous
Earplugs: A savior for light sleepers, ensuring you get a good night’s rest even if your roommate (or the city) gets a little noisy.
Phrasebook/App: A few words of Spanish (or Quechua!) go a long way in connecting with the locals.
Money Belt: For peace of mind while exploring busy markets.
🧺 Laundry & Valuables
Valuables: We advise leaving expensive jewelry and unnecessary electronics at home. Use the hotel safe for your passport and extra cash when not needed.
Laundry: Packing for 5 days is usually manageable without laundry. However, if you need a refresh, most hotels offer service.
🎒 Ready to Go?
With these items in your bag, you are all set for an unforgettable adventure filled with history, culture, and awe-inspiring sights. Pack smart, travel light, and get ready to explore the wonders of the Andes!
A smooth trip is a happy trip! Here is everything you need to know to prepare for your Cusco Imperial Tour.
1. 📄 Your Passport is Your Key
This is the most important rule of the trip! You must bring your original physical passport (not a copy or a photo) to enter Machu Picchu and board the train.
Please Note: The passport you bring must match the number you used to book the tour. If you have renewed your passport since booking, please bring both the old and new passports.
2. 🏔️ Beating the Altitude
Cusco sits at 3,400m (11,150 ft) above sea level. While most travelers adjust just fine, we want you to feel your best.
Acclimatize: We recommend arriving in Cusco at least half a day before your tour begins to rest.
Hydrate: Drink plenty of water and try the local Coca Tea (a natural Andean remedy).
Eat Light: On your first day, opt for lighter meals to help your digestion adjust.
3. 🎒 Packing Smart: Layers are Your Friend
Andean weather is famous for changing quickly—you might experience sun, clouds, and a cool breeze all in one hour!
Dress in Layers: Wear a T-shirt, a warm sweater/fleece, and a light rain jacket. This way, you can peel layers off as you warm up.
Footwear: Comfortable walking shoes or sneakers with good grip are essential for the cobblestone streets and archaeological sites.
Sun Protection: The high-altitude sun is strong. Bring sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen.
4. 🚆 Train & Luggage Logistics
To keep the train ride to Machu Picchu comfortable for everyone, PeruRail and Inca Rail have strict luggage limits.
Carry-On Only: You are allowed one backpack/bag of up to 5kg (11 lbs) on the train.
Storage: Don’t worry! You can leave your large suitcases safely in storage at your hotel in Cusco or at our office while we travel to Machu Picchu.
5. 🏛️ Machu Picchu Rules
To preserve this World Wonder, there are a few specific regulations:
Bag Size: Backpacks entering the ruins must not exceed 40x35x20 cm. (Standard daypacks are fine).
Prohibited Items: Selfie sticks, tripods, umbrellas, and walking sticks (unless you have a medical certificate) are not allowed inside the citadel.
Re-entry: Bathrooms are located outside the main entry gate, so please use them before we enter!

Q: Are flights to Cusco included?
A: No, domestic and international flights are not included. You will need to purchase your own flight tickets to arrive at Cusco Airport (CUZ). We will handle the rest—from airport pickup to drop-off!
🎒 Packing & Luggage
Q: What do I do with my big suitcase when we go to Machu Picchu?
A: The trains to Machu Picchu have strict luggage limits (max 5kg/11lbs). Don’t worry! You can leave your large suitcases safely in the free storage at your Cusco hotel or our office. You only need to pack a small overnight bag/backpack for the night in Aguas Calientes.
🥗 Food & Diet
Q: I am vegetarian/vegan/have allergies. Can you accommodate me?
A: Yes! Peru is very accustomed to dietary needs. Please let us know your restrictions when you book. We will inform your guide and ensure there are options for you.
Note: Breakfasts are buffet-style at the hotels with plenty of options. For lunch and dinner (which are not included), your guide can recommend excellent restaurants that fit your diet.
🏛️ The Experience
Q: Is the climb to Huayna Picchu Mountain included?
A: The standard package includes the entrance to the Machu Picchu Citadel (Circuit 2). The hike to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain is an optional extra that requires a separate permit. If you want to do this hike, please let us know immediately so we can check permit availability for you.

A: The Andes are unpredictable!
Dry Season (May – Oct): Sunny days, very cold nights.
Wet Season (Nov – April): Warmer nights, but rain showers are common.
Golden Rule: Dress in layers and always carry a rain poncho!
