The Best View Guaranteed: Circuit 2 Included
Experience the Machu Picchu you have always dreamed of.
Navigating the new circuit rules at Machu Picchu can be confusing, but we have made it simple for you. We prioritize securing Circuit 2 (The Classic Route) for all our standard bookings.
Why is Circuit 2 the best choice?
The Postcard Shot: This is the route that takes you to the famous «Guardian’s House» viewpoint. It is the only circuit where you can get that iconic, panoramic photo of the Lost City with Huayna Picchu in the background.
The Full Experience: Circuit 2 offers the most comprehensive tour of the citadel. You will explore the heart of the ruins, including the Sacred Plaza, the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana (Sundial),* and the Sacred Rock.
No FOMO: While other lower circuits skip the upper terraces and the best views, Circuit 2 ensures you see the grandeur of the site from top to bottom.
Don’t settle for less. We want your memory of the Andes to be perfect, which is why we go the extra mile to secure the most complete route available for your tour.
Important Note: Circuit 2 tickets are the most popular and sell out months in advance! We strongly recommend booking your tour as early as possible so we can guarantee this preferred route for you.

🎒 What to Bring: Your Packing Checklist
Smart Packing for the 3-Day Machu Picchu Adventure
Getting ready for your trip is part of the excitement! To ensure your journey is as smooth as the Andean breeze, we recommend traveling light.
The Golden Rule of Luggage: We recommend a medium-sized wheeled suitcase (approx. 20kg/44lbs) for your main gear—it fits perfectly in our transport vehicles. However, remember that you will be moving between airports, vans, and cobblestone streets, so if you can’t lift it, don’t pack it!
Don’t forget: You will also need a comfortable Daypack for the daily excursions to carry your water, camera, and rain gear.
✅ The Essentials (Must-Haves)
These are the items you absolutely cannot leave the hotel without.
Original Passport: You must keep this dry and secure. You will need it to board the train and enter Machu Picchu. (Tip: Keep a digital photo of it on your phone, just in case).
Comfortable Footwear: Your feet are your best friends on this trip! Bring broken-in, closed-toe walking shoes or hiking boots with good grip for the stone paths.
Sun Protection: The high-altitude sun is strong. Bring a wide-brimmed hat, quality sunglasses, and high-SPF sunscreen.
Insect Protection: Machu Picchu is in the cloud forest. Bring insect repellent to keep the bugs at bay while you admire the view.
Local Cash (Soles): While credit cards work in many places, having small coins and bills is perfect for buying water, snacks, or unique souvenirs in local markets.
Camera/Phone: You are going to one of the most photogenic places on earth—make sure you have enough memory!
🌿 Recommended & Eco-Friendly
Enhance your experience and travel responsibly.
Reusable Water Bottle: Stay hydrated and help us protect the Sacred Valley. Did you know? Manufacturing a single plastic bottle requires 2 liters of water and oil! We recommend a bottle of at least 1.5 liters.
Personal Medical Kit: Your guide carries a comprehensive first-aid kit, but we recommend a small personal pouch with band-aids, blister pads, electrolytes, and mild pain relief (like Tylenol or Ibuprofen).
Document Copies: Keep physical or digital copies of your flight tickets, insurance, and vaccination certificates separate from the originals.
Tech Essentials: An electrical adapter (Peru uses Type A and C) to keep your devices charged.
Timepiece: A watch, phone, or travel alarm to ensure you wake up in time for those magical early morning starts.
🛌 Optional Comforts
Earplugs: If you are a light sleeper, these are great for ensuring a peaceful rest in shared accommodations or hotels near the train tracks.
Phrasebook: A little Spanish goes a long way! A pocket dictionary or app is a great «secret weapon» for connecting with locals.

🏔️ Acclimatization & Physicality
Q: How difficult is the hiking on this tour?
A: This tour is rated Moderate. You won’t be doing long-distance trekking, but you will be walking on uneven Inca cobblestones, climbing steep stone steps, and navigating terraced hills. A reasonable level of fitness and mobility is required to fully enjoy the experience.
Q: Do I need to worry about altitude sickness?
A: The Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu are actually lower in elevation than Cusco City! However, altitude affects everyone differently. We recommend spending at least 2 days in Cusco before starting this tour to acclimatize. Drink plenty of water, try the local mate de coca (coca tea), and we will take the tour at a relaxed pace.
🎒 Luggage & Logistics
Q: What do I do with my large suitcase?
A: Trains to Machu Picchu have strict luggage limits (typically a backpack/daypack up to 5kg/11lbs). We recommend leaving your large, heavy suitcases in storage at your hotel in Cusco or at our office. You only need to pack a small overnight bag for your two nights in Aguas Calientes.
Q: Where does the tour start and end?
A: We offer door-to-door service! We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco on Day 1 and drop you back off at your hotel in Cusco on Day 3.
🎟️ Tickets & Booking
Q: Are the Machu Picchu entrance tickets guaranteed?
A: Yes! Once you book with us and provide your passport details, we purchase your official entrance tickets. However, permits can sell out months in advance (especially during peak season), so we highly recommend booking your tour as early as possible.
Q: Can I climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain?
A: Yes, but these are special additional hikes that require a separate permit and cost an additional fee ($40 USD). These sell out very quickly. Please let us know at the time of booking if you wish to add this to your itinerary.
🥗 Food & Accommodation
Q: I am a vegetarian/vegan or have allergies. Can you accommodate me?
A: Absolutely. We want you to stay fueled and happy! Please inform us of any dietary restrictions or allergies when you book, and we will coordinate with the hotel and guides to ensure you have safe, delicious options.
Q: Do I have to pay extra if I am traveling solo?
A: Our prices are based on double occupancy (two people sharing a room). If you are a solo traveler and would like a private room, a Single Supplement fee will apply. Please contact us for the specific rate.
